There are a lot of interesting and unusual things to see in Denver, Colorado, such as the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival! The Colorado Dragon Boat Festival, which has been held every year since 1997 at Sloan's Lake Park, is expected to return on July 23-24, 2022. The park will be packed with dragon boat races, exquisite food, an Asian market, a variety of activities, and hundreds of community members meeting for the first time in two years when it reopens after two years of COVID-19 cancellations and toxic algae blooms.
The event will be open to the public and take place on July 29 in Historic Church Hill. There will be over a hundred exhibitors selling everything from crafts to cuisine, as well as live music. The event is free to attend, but any amount of monetary donations are appreciated to help cover costs and plan future installments. The Shaolin Hung Mei Kung Fu will perform a 75-foot-long magnificent, old Chinese Dragon in Sloan Lake Park on September 10th.On their way to the finish line, the Dragon Boat teams will traverse a log bridge and swim across a tiny lake. The dragon fountain, which shoots water into a pond used as the basis for Dragon Boat paddles, will be on stage. When Team City goes by the Band Stage, the Dragon will be illuminated on top of its roof. Teams will compete in a two-day dragon boat race. The return of the Taiwanese-style boats has been far too long in coming. Each boat will have 18 oarsmen, one drummer, and one flag grabber. Attend the finish line to witness the drama of the flag grabber leaning out and snatching the banner to win the race. At the Taste of Asia Restaurant & Food Court, you may eat a variety of Asian dishes while shopping till you drop. At the Marketplace, guests will be able to sample a wide selection of Asian cuisine! There's something for everyone. Vendors at the Marketplace may sell things that are comparable to those found in open-air marketplaces throughout Asia. The Performance Stages has hosted traditional and contemporary Asian and Asian-American instrumental, vocal, choral, and dance entertainment by prominent local artists every third summer since 2004. Japanese Taiko drumming was previously performed by previous Denver Taiko, Halau Kalama, and Mudra Dance organizations. This is one show you won't want to miss!
